Task 4. The Big Humanities Project

Preparation for this year's Big Humanities Project has begun! It promises to be a busy few weeks before our exhibition in week 7.

Below is an outline of the competition criteria, topics and some resources to get you started.

Working in groups of no more than four.

You will be investigating ONE of the central ideas of Year 7 Humanities.

Project Outline:

You are to conduct research and produce an outline or solution to your question, which will contribute to the group investigation of your topic.

The following topics we examined in class are a good place to start.

  •  Out of Africa

  • Ancient Greece

  • Ancient China

  • Liveability

  • LEDC Liveability

  • Water in the World

  • Wetlands

Your group must answer a question, below are some examples of questions to investigate.

  • Was the Neolithic revolution a good or a bad idea?

  • An Historical and cultural tourism adventure to the sites of early Aboriginal settlement

  • Reasons to join the religion of the Ancient Greek Gods

  • A guide to the philosophies of Ancient China

  • A make LEDC cities liveable campaign

  • A guide to sustainability in Adelaide.

  • Friends of the Murray River conservation group

  • Wetlands action network
